WITH international travel back on the agenda, there\u2019s never been a better time to stimulate your brain to brush up on, or start learning, a foreign language.<\/p>\n
With travel about broadening the mind, achieved through understanding the culture, sights, sounds, tastes and importantly the language of another country.<\/p>\n
And who better to teach the intrepid traveller willing to learn, but a person from that country, with a passion for teaching.<\/p>\n
Francesca Angeli-Urbini comes from the historic town of Cesena in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy.<\/p>\n
With a love of teaching Italian to foreign students since 1992, on arrival in Australia Ms Angeli-Urbini was able to continue her journey of teaching Italian as a second language.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am a qualified teacher and have been working in primary, secondary and foreign language schools,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am now focussing on working with adults as I find it both challenging and stimulating. There were quite a few people who were keen to learn Italian in a way that embraced more than just the language.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am delighted that I have a number of students who have an Italian heritage and want to reconnect with the land of their forebears.\u201d<\/p>\n
Student Brian Anstey said that people learn in a way that is definitely fun, through games and conversation, reading, building grammar and vocabulary.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrancesca understands that we each learn in a different way and she focuses on specialised learning that caters for our individual needs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
La Scuola di Francesca has a range of classes from beginners, through to intermediate and advanced, with new students able to slot into their level at any time.<\/p>\n
