SCARSDALE\u2019S Woady Yaloak Kindergarten has completed the free Victorian Healthy Early Childhood Services Achievement Program which encourages healthy living, learning, working, and playing for children.<\/p>\n
The Program was delivered by the Cancer Council Victoria, and supported by Ballarat Community Health, with the kinder receiving frameworks to support their community\u2019s wellbeing and physical activity, nutrition, oral health, alcohol and broader drug education, mental health, and sun safety.<\/p>\n
Woady Yaloak Kindergarten\u2019s Susanne Hildebrand said the early learning centre has assessed their strengths and identified areas that can be improved.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis enabled us to provide relevant resources and information and ensure the community at Woady Yaloak receives an excellent service,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe children love learning about their health and wellbeing, and importantly can take that knowledge home to share with their families.\u201d<\/p>\n
BCH health promotion officer Demelza Diacogiorgis said any local service wishing to support the wellbeing of their clients is eligible to take part in the Victorian Healthy Early Childhood Services Achievement Program.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe program\u2019s targets help to achieve healthy changes in your service’s physical environment, policies and practices, and health promoting activities,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you achieve all targets for each health area, you’ll receive Victorian Government recognition and Ballarat Community Health will be there to provide on-the-ground support every step of the way.\u201d<\/p>\n
