YMCA Bannockburn\u2019s upcoming community market will generate funds for the Breast Cancer Network of Australia.<\/p>\n
Centre manager Jessica Claridge said about 30 stallholders are set to fill the Bannockburn Recreation Centre stadium on Sunday, 22 May from 10am to 2pm, not only supporting breast cancer research, but raising awareness of the disease and breast health.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve decided to support BCNA because a few people we know personally have been affected by breast cancer,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll of our proceeds from stallholder fees, a sausage sizzle, raffle tickets, and donation tins will go directly to BCNA\u2019s research.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Claridge said a diverse range of small business stalls will include candles, flooring specialists, wheat bags, baby clothes and accessories, active wear, jewellery, body products, and pots.<\/p>\n
Sweet and savoury food vans and trucks, a family eating area, mini golf, and an animal farm will also be based outside the rec centre, which is adjacent to a park and playground.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of community members have jumped on board as stall holders, many of them home businesses. We\u2019re welcoming everyone who would like to get their business out there,\u201d Ms Claridge said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter COVID, this is an opportunity to get community members back out and interacting with each other, and a way for us let the community know what we do at YMCA Bannockburn.<\/p>\n
\u201cBannockburn is a growing community, and we\u2019d love for people to be a part of our stadium too.\u201d<\/p>\n
