Committee member Jeff Martin said even the simple things are exciting at their new home.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve never had a toilet before, so that\u2019s a bit flash,\u201d he laughed.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn our amenity room we\u2019re able to sit and chat comfortably, which is what a Men\u2019s Shed is all about, and in our workshop, we can work on a project in comfort with space.\u201d<\/p>\n
Twelve members have contributed to the build, including a core group of six helpers.<\/p>\n
Construction has mostly been completed by them, except for some essential concreting, plumbing and electrical trades.<\/p>\n
The community group has been striving for a purpose-built space for four years. They currently have 25 members, including residents from Linton, Pittong, Skipton, Snake Valley, and Ballarat.<\/p>\n
Some do woodwork, while others just enjoy dropping in for some companionship over a cuppa.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re encouraging new members to join us, because we have plenty of space. Not all our members are usually here at once,\u201d Mr Martin said.<\/p>\n
The Linton Men\u2019s Shed will be officially opened on Saturday, 18 June at 11am, with Member for Buninyong, Michaela Settle, in attendance.<\/p>\n
Members are always on site on Wednesdays and Saturdays, 11am to 4pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
