THE Inverleigh Tree Succession Plan is continuing to grow, and now Golden Plains Shire is seeking further feedback from residents.<\/p>\n
The community can have a say, again, via a survey on the types of trees they would prefer to see at Inverleigh\u2019s western and eastern avenues.<\/p>\n
The plan was formed from community consultation following the removal of six Monterey cypress trees at Inverleigh late last year, and Golden Plains Shire mayor Cr Gavin Gamble urged residents to take part in the consultation process.<\/p>\n
\u201cCouncil wants to ensure the replanting meets the expectations of the community and is guided by knowledgeable staff to ensure the best outcome,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe previous engagement established that the western and eastern avenues will be replanted with two different species of tree and a mix for the camping area.<\/p>\n
The plan will be inclusive of trees within the western cypress avenue and public camping reserve as well as the revitalisation of the eastern avenue.<\/p>\n
A range of options will be released for each site, guided by sustainability and by community feedback.<\/p>\n
The survey was sent via mail to residents and is open until Thursday, 15 June and completed feedback can be emailed to enquiries@gplains.vic.gov.au or mailed to Golden Plains Shire Council, PO Box 111, Bannockburn, marked \u2018attention: Inverleigh Tree Succession Plan.\u2019<\/p>\n
