{"id":83221,"date":"2022-07-07T04:45:40","date_gmt":"2022-07-06T17:45:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=83221"},"modified":"2022-07-08T15:31:09","modified_gmt":"2022-07-08T04:31:09","slug":"swans-and-east-point-in-top-three-clash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/sport\/swans-and-east-point-in-top-three-clash\/","title":{"rendered":"Swans and East Point in top three clash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ballarat v East Point<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SECOND and third on the McDonalds Ballarat Football League ladder are set battle for the second time this season, with the victor pressing their claim to be Melton\u2019s greatest challenger for the flag.<\/p>\n<p>The Swans last minute heroics for the second week in a row saw them record a rare victory downing Sunbury at Clarke Oval last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Kangas were far too strong for Redan with fours from Jackson Merrett sealing the empathic victory.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the season when these two sides met it was the East Point midfield that was able to get on top, with Matthew Johnston, Merrett and Mickitja Rotumah-Onus all pulling the strings.<\/p>\n<p>Not to be out done Joe Dodd and Jordan Taylor are also continuing to have great seasons and their sheer ability to have multiple blokes able to win a heap of footy, plus the firepower of Jordan Johnston and Bryson McDougall might be the difference in the Kangas sneaking home here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prediction: East Point in a tight one.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Melton v Bacchus Marsh<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Match of the round with an all Eastern Bloc affair headlining what will be a vital game in determining what sides with feature this year in September.<\/p>\n<p>The Bloods are undefeated so far with their impressive record now 10-0 whereas the Marsh have won the last three to re-join the top six after holding off a gallant Lake Wendouree at this past weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The visitors will be desperate to recall Henderson Medallist, Dan Burton, who missed on the weekend with a foot injury with the impressive Mark Orr being the catalyst in Melton\u2019s success to date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prediction: Melton by 24 points.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Darley v Melton South<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To hang onto sixth spot, it is simple for the Devils &#8211;
