NEW equipment is on the way for sporting clubs throughout Golden Plains as part of the State Government\u2019s Sporting Club Grants Program.<\/p>\n
Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney, announced the successful applicants last week and said the initiative provides them the chance to expand.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re proud to provide this boost that opens up a range of opportunities for clubs and their members,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Sporting Club Grants Program is giving grassroots clubs in Western Victoria the support they need to grow their ranks and help more people than ever play the sports they love.\u201d<\/p>\n
The five successful Golden Plains clubs include Smythesdale and District Pony Club, Smythesdale Adult Riding Club, and Bannockburn, Carngham Linton, and Rokewood Corindhap football and netball clubs.<\/p>\n
Smythesdale and District will receive updated jumping poles, and secretary Janet Jackson said it was \u201cfantastic\u201d to receive the support.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been hard over the last couple years with COVID in terms of running our fundraising events,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, this will go towards making our pole setups easier on our volunteers and lighter for the horses.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s great to get that support for the hardworking volunteers and to have good, up-to-date equipment for our riders.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Sporting Club Grants Program aims to provides up to $1000 for new uniforms and equipment, and $5000 for training initiatives and operational expansion per club or sports organisation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
