It\u2019s a great way to spend a Sunday morning,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll be planting 600 trees and shrubs to create habitat for our native fauna and beautify Bruces Creek.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re looking forward to working alongside the community to make a positive impact that we\u2019ll be able to reap the benefits of for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_83757\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-83757\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-83757\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2022\/07\/tree-planting-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2022\/07\/tree-planting-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2022\/07\/tree-planting-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2022\/07\/tree-planting-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2022\/07\/tree-planting-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2022\/07\/tree-planting-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-83757\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Participants will be able to plant trees that they can watch grow for many years to come.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Golden Plains Shire mayor Cr Gavin Gamble said participating in National Tree Day is a perfect family weekend activity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI encourage all Golden Plains residents to come along and plant a tree that they\u2019ll be able to watch grow into the future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver 26 million trees have been planted by Australian volunteers since 1996 as part of the program and we are excited to add to this with the contribution of 600 trees and shrubs to be planted at Bruces Creek Reserve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlanting trees is not only good for the environment but they provide habitat, food and even homes for native wildlife.
