East Point 12.12 (84) defeated by Melton 20.7 (127)<\/strong><\/p>\n

A FOURTEEN-goal third quarter avalanche was the difference as the Melton Bloods came from behind to secure the minor premiership in the McDonald\u2019s Ballarat Football League for season 2022.<\/p>\n

In what was no doubt the most impressive quarter of the season thus far, the Kangas had no answers for the Bloods rampaging midfield who continued to send repeat entries inside forward 50.<\/p>\n

An undermanned Eass Point were missing incoming senior coach Jackson Merrett and their match winner Jacob Brown, and it showcased a lack of experience that couldn\u2019t handle the Melton pressure and stem the bleeding in the third quarter.<\/p>\n

For the visitors Kyle Borg had a breakout game with Aaron Tymms opting to move the livewire into the starting midfield group this past weekend.<\/p>\n

Quite simply, East Point had no one with the wheels to keep up with Borg or the good form of Lachie Watkins and Jack Walker.<\/p>\n

The Bloods ran riot through the centre of the Eastern Oval all afternoon.<\/p>\n

For the Roos, Jordan Johnston went up forward and booted three goals despite injuring his ankle in the second term<\/p>\n

The fact he played through the pain in the second half suggests he will be fine to go for East Point\u2019s elimination final in two weeks\u2019 time.<\/p>\n

Melton won\u2019t rush back leading goal kicker Ryan Carter and experienced on-baller Daniel O\u2019Leary, with their settled 22 again putting a consistent enough performance making it hard to find who they would naturally replace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
