LEARNER drivers within the Ballarat Foundation-run L2P mentor program will be able to strengthen their on-road skills in a brand-new car.<\/p>\n
Community Bank Buninyong has funded the purchase of the vehicle to boost the fleet which is supporting 113 young learner drivers.<\/p>\n
One of the Bank\u2019s directors Debbie Rybicki said the process of gaining a drivers\u2019 licence is a rite of passage for regional young people, and it means they can easily seek, gain and attend employment, travel to education and training, and meet up with family and friends.<\/p>\n
\u201cCommunity Bank Buninyong are thrilled to support the L2P Program to allow even more young people to gain independence to travel to their work or training,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The Foundation\u2019s CEO Andrew Eales said Community Bank Buninyong have been generous in helping learner drivers get around, and gain confidence, and the new car will mean more people can access the program.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey have provided a safe, new vehicle enabling more learners to access the TAC L2P program and set them on the right path towards independence in early adulthood,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a great example of community partnerships working together for the good of the community.\u201d<\/p>\n
The L2P program aims to support local young people in achieving 120 hours of supervised driving practice before their test, where otherwise they may not have had access to a supervising driver or appropriate car.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
