DESIGNS for the Inverleigh Active Youth Space are now viewable to the public.<\/p>\n
The $2.3 million facility upgrade at at Yerram Yaluk Bun Play Space is set to see the construction of a skate park, bike pump track, basketball courts, lighting, beautification works, and the installation of more seating, shelters, and shady areas.<\/p>\n
Inverleigh Active Youth Space designs are aiming to get people to be active and develop community friendships in a fun, safe and positive environment.<\/p>\n
Golden Plains Shire mayor Cr Gavin Gamble said seeing concept plans is always an exciting time.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Inverleigh community have done a fantastic job advocating for the Active Youth Space project and it\u2019s wonderful to see their ideas come to life,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI encourage all community members to view the plans online and discuss the proposed project with council\u2019s recreation team at the engagement session.<\/p>\n
\u201cInverleigh is one of the Shire\u2019s fastest growing communities and council is pleased to be working alongside them to deliver a purpose-built space for young people in Inverleigh and surrounding towns.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Federal Government is contributing $700,000, the Shire $150,000, and a funding application has been made for $1.48 million from the State\u2019s Growing Suburbs Fund to complete the project, which would also mean sealed car parking, more accessible concrete paths, seating, and landscaping could be included.<\/p>\n
Inverleigh Progress Association led community consultation on this project, and the Shire has developed the plans which can be seen on the municipal website.<\/p>\n
The designs are open for community feedback until Wednesday, 21 September.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
