RESIDENTS of Inverleigh and surrounds are invited to open their garage and declutter as part of a townwide event.<\/p>\n
The Inverleigh Garage Sale Trail is set to run on the Saturday, 19 and Sunday, 20 November with the aim of getting the community involved all over town.<\/p>\n
With 15 households already signed on, coordinator Robyn Kerdel said she\u2019s putting the word out for more people.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a small but friendly town and it\u2019s good to really push community events like this,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter the pandemic we were all looking for ways to get people out and about and mixing together again and that\u2019s how it happened last year.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a great way to continue that while giving us all a chance to clean out some of our junk.\u201d<\/p>\n
Following the last year\u2019s event Ms Kerdel said she\u2019s taken over from the from the team of community members that ran.<\/p>\n
Going at the same time as a nationwide Garage Sale Trail festival, the Inverleigh event is taking place independently.<\/p>\n
Ms Kerdel said she\u2019d like to see between 20 and 30 households involved and the main aim of the event is to foster community connection.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll have some houses set up about two or three kilometres from the general store and others at the centre of town,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, it looks like it will be a bit of a drive-around trail like last time.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of new people moving into town as well so they can even downsize while getting to know people around the community too.\u201d<\/p>\n
