THIS October, Linton is blushing pink for a good cause.<\/p>\n
Community members are leading a grassroots Pink Up Linton campaign to raise money for the McGrath Foundation, which funds breast care nurses.<\/p>\n
Last Monday morning, Cristine Gall and her staff at Linton Takeaway hosted 50 locals at a pink-themed morning tea, putting on a spread of Clare Bear Sweets\u2019 treats, and coffee.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve had family members diagnosed with breast cancer, alongside other ladies in town, so it\u2019s a cause close to our hearts that we\u2019re happy to be involved with,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cClare\u2019s decorating her shop pink, the Linton Craft Group are involved, and the police station\u2019s been decorated as well.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s fantastic to see our community coming together for a good cause.\u201d<\/p>\n
Leading Senior Constable Craig Walker was supporting the morning tea in a hot pink polo-top, and said the Linton police station is looking festive too.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe takeaway girls came up and pinked-up the front window with decorations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cCristine is doing a wonderful job promoting the McGrath Foundation fundraiser and is mentioning it to everyone that drops into the Takeaway.<\/p>\n
“Her local support for everyone in town is excellent. She has a great business here and puts so much back into our community. Everyone gets behind and supports one another in their endeavours.”<\/p>\n
Two raffles are also running throughout the month to boost funds. Pink Up Linton ran for two weeks in 2021, raising $1750, and Ms Gall said she is aiming to beat that figure this time around.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
