A NEW Landcare Support Plan 2022-2027 has been released by the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority with the aim of increasing links to the environmental groups.<\/p>\n
The document looks at how Landcare groups and the Corangamite CMA can work together, and support one another, to benefit the broader region between Port Campbell and Ballarat<\/p>\n
The plan has been written by members of both organisations.<\/p>\n
Chair of the Corangamite CMA, Cath Jenkins, also heads up the joint quarterly meetings.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis new Landcare Support Plan sets us in good stead going forwards and is a useful document for people to understand Landcare in our region,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Corangamite CMA values the contribution of Landcare towards achieving beneficial outcomes for our natural environment, agriculture, local communities and sustainable land management, and is committed to supporting Landcare groups and networks to continue their important work.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith this support plan, the Corangamite CMA hopes to see the Landcare movement in this region continue to grow and flourish, now and into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Landcare Support Plan 2022-2027 outlines the focus of volunteer groups and member roles, and it has information to assist in getting the word out about activities, initiatives, and progress.<\/p>\n
It also covers how the Corangamite CMA can support Landcare groups into the future, outlines key policies, strategies, principles, and processes, and guides the identification of priorities, monitoring projects and reviews.<\/p>\n
Ms Jenkins emphasised that Corangamite CMA staff are grateful to the broader Victorian Landcare team, and sub-groups, for their work coordinating regional members and initiatives throughout the Corangamite region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
