MUSICIANS aged between twelve and twenty-five are being sought to take part in the Golden Plains Youth FreeZA Summer Sessions event next year.<\/p>\n
The free event is slated for Saturday, 18 February at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre and is aimed at providing young performers a platform to display their musical abilities to an audience.<\/p>\n
Outgoing mayor Cr Gavin Gamble said the event will provide experience for young emerging musicians in playing live.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe FReeZa Summer Sessions event is an exciting opportunity for young performers to take the stage in front of a large, supportive audience of their peers while gaining valuable performance experience,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPresented by FReeZA, the event not only highlights the emerging talent we have in Golden Plains but also provides young people with important development opportunities within the music and events industries.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is fantastic to see the return of live music and events to our shire following COVID-19, and for youth to have this opportunity.<\/p>\n
\u201cI encourage all young people across the Shire to attend the FReeZA Summer Sessions event and show their support for the young musicians, bands and digital artists that take to the stage.\u201d<\/p>\n
The FreeZA program was established as a State Government initiative in 1997 by the Push Music Youth Organisation.<\/p>\n
The event is open for bands, soloists, duos and digital artists and is being led by the FReeZA Youth Events Crew, expected to run from 3pm until 7pm.<\/p>\n
Expressions of interest are open until Friday, 16 December and can be submitted through the municipality\u2019s website, by emailing youth@plains.vic.gov.au or in-person at the customer hub in Bannockburn.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
