BANNOCKBURN\u2019S industrial estate has a garden supply store once more.<\/p>\n
The doors were opened on Golden Plains Sand and Soil over the weekend, and owner Scott Moreland said it\u2019s \u201ca massive relief\u201d to launch the shop.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been an overwhelming day, and there\u2019s definitely a need for this because Golden Plains is only getting bigger,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got top soils, we\u2019ve got sands, garden mix, mulch, toppings for pathways and river rocks.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone needs garden supplies. There\u2019s new housing estates coming in who\u2019ll need somewhere to get their gardening done, so it\u2019s great we can keep this sort of thing local.\u201d<\/p>\n
A launch event is expected to take place next month alongside a rental hire expansion for equipment like excavators, rollers, and weedwhackers.<\/p>\n
Mr Moreland is also director of Moreland and Sons contractors, which provides landscaping works and will also operate out of the newly-established store.<\/p>\n
A self-proclaimed avid gardener, Mr Moreland said he jumped at the chance to open his own supply store following the closure of the previous supplier, Bannockburn Garden Supplies.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been in construction for eight years and have done lots with landscapers. My taste isn\u2019t everyone\u2019s but I know what people need in their gardens,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSomething had to be opened. There was the existing garden supply here that shut down and the demand is definitely still here.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love my garden, from my white flowers to my magnolias. There was a need for this sort of thing and when the opportunity came up, I just took it.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
