LOCAL basketball product Milly Sharp will return to the Miners for another year.<\/p>\n
The 17-year-old Ballarat Grammar student will play for the women\u2019s team in the 2023 NBL1 South season after running on court in 19 games over the past two years.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have played all my junior basketball with Ballarat representative teams and I have represented Ballarat with pride as part of the Victorian State teams, and to complete the pathway to NBL1 is awesome,\u201d Sharp said.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately, I missed a few games at the back end of last season due to injury so was keen to hit the gym, and really give myself an opportunity to be the fittest and strongest version of myself to play a variety of roles for the team.\u201d<\/p>\n
The team\u2019s head coach Rob Baker has said he is pleased to sign Sharp and excited to see her future achievements.<\/p>\n
\u201cMilly has come through the junior program and is entering her third season with the senior team. She has been constantly improving and developing and is ready to take the next step as an important role player for the NBL1 program,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cMilly has had a consistent offseason, and is a regular in the gym, preparing herself for the U20 Victorian State team and a full season of NBL1 basketball.\u201d<\/p>\n
Before she pulls on the singlet for the Miners, Sharp will also take part in the Under 20 Australian Junior Championships in Geelong.<\/p>\n
