A REGIONAL roadshow aimed at strengthening the output of Victoria\u2019s livestock providers is set to stop off in the area next month.<\/p>\n
The BestWool\/BestLamb and BetterBeef Regional Roadshow will see four industry representatives bringing their presentations to Buninyong in early March.<\/p>\n
Lyndon Kubeil, Agriculture Victoria\u2019s meat and wool program manager said the event will provide livestock producers with the tools to better their practice.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur theme for the roadshow is high performing livestock, pastures and people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, we\u2019re bringing some highly renowned private consultants to the regions and basically trying to reconnect with communities after not being able to run our annual conference last year.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019ll be a lunch after the presentation so presenters can mingle with the audience and each other.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Buninyong event is one of four regional Victorian stops and is being delivered by Agriculture Victoria in partnership with Meat and Livestock Australia and Australian Wool Innovation.<\/p>\n
Dr Joan Lloyd of Joan Lloyd Consulting will speak on animal health, Achieve Ag Solutions\u2019 Nathan Scott will present on management reproduction, and Sally Murfet from Inspire Ag will talk about the theory of profit and people.<\/p>\n
Finally, Nicon Rural Service\u2019s Cam Nicholson will present on pasture management, and he said each speaker will complement each other.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy topic will present a way of rapidly assessing your pasture to see whether it\u2019s good, bad or ugly and what options there are to respond to that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith this roadshow, you\u2019ve got ones around obviously animals and their performance so in a simple sense, they\u2019ll only perform as well as they\u2019re fed.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn the people side, it\u2019s about how you make decisions. You can\u2019t look at any of these things in isolation to run a farming business.\u201d<\/p>\n
The BestWool\/BestLamb and BetterBeef Regional Roadshow will take place at the Buninyong Bowls Club from 9am to 1pm on Thursday, 2 March.<\/p>\n
