ALL things auto are set to be celebrated next month with the return of a fundraiser show and shine.<\/p>\n
Following its debut last year which raised $35,000 for four charities, Street Speed and Mayhem is once again take set for the Ballarat Showgrounds with funds going towards supporting mental health.<\/p>\n
Lance Clohesy, one of the event\u2019s three organisers, said it will be a massive step up from their previous offering.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll have live music and a licensed bar, a 15-minute air display, a tattooist, a barbers, a man-cave truck coming from Melbourne. There\u2019s a lot going on,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe put the last one together in about three weeks and this year we\u2019ve given ourselves four months to plan it all a bit better.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve opened it up to all makes and in the pavilion we\u2019ll showcase some pretty high-end show cars and hot rods.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese sorts of shows don\u2019t happen often around here so it\u2019s good to put on something that\u2019s a bit different to your average car show.\u201d<\/p>\n
The event is the continuation of a previous show and shine fundraiser Mr Clohesy held in Buninyong to raise funds for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.<\/p>\n
As well as live music and a licensed bar, the show will feature two sessions from WERIDEco Harley Stunts and performances from freestyle motocross riders Jackson Strong, and Tom and Ben Richards.<\/p>\n
A 15-minute aerobatic show will also take place, and there\u2019ll be trade stalls and car and bike displays.<\/p>\n
Mini Ferris wheels, a fun factory and Australia\u2019s only wheel machine will be on offer to keep kids entertained.<\/p>\n
Proceeds from the upcoming event will go towards non-profits Ballarat Men\u2019s Mental Health, Build a Brotherhood, and Australian Brotherhood of Fathers.<\/p>\n
Mr Clohesy said it\u2019s important to be able to give back through these events.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese groups don\u2019t receive any government funding,\u201d he said. \u201cThey fund themselves. So hopefully we can do pretty well and give them the support they need.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re helping them and they in turn get to help others who are usually at rock bottom.\u201d<\/p>\n
Street Speed and Mayhem will take place on Saturday, 1 April at the Ballarat Showgrounds from 12pm to 6pm.<\/p>\n
