IT\u2019S time to pop some popcorn, head down to the Linton Recreation Reserve, and get comfy on a picnic rug for the town\u2019s outdoor movie night.<\/p>\n
Hosted by the Linton Progress Association, the event is set for Saturday, 1 April at 6.30pm and president Craig Walker said their aim is to engage the community by offering something different for local people.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat better way to do that than getting everyone together for a chat during dinner, and putting on a movie afterwards?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone can grab their camp chairs or picnic rugs, sit and have tea, and watch the movie.\u201d<\/p>\n
Showbiz Cinemas will be bringing along a large blow-up screen and showing family film, Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile from 7.30pm.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re looking to get families involved with what\u2019s going on in Linton, and hopefully from there, we can get the community closer together, and run a few more events,\u201d Mr Walker said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe encourage families, big or small, or even elderly couples to come along and have a great night. Depending on the success of this year, it could become an annual, or six-monthly event.\u201d<\/p>\n
People can attend by gold coin donation which will go back to the Linton Progress Association as a not-for-profit, and fund community projects like the Linton Pantry.<\/p>\n
Food will be available on site, with the Progress Association cooking hot dogs and the Linton Takeaway providing fish and chip packs.<\/p>\n
Pizzas can be purchased from the Railway Hotel and brought down to the oval, and drinks will be available at bar prices from the Linton Cricket Club.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
