A SCARSDALE floodway has reopened following extensive upgrades.<\/p>\n
The Tannery Road floodway is now open to traffic and has been updated to allow double the amount of water to pass underneath.<\/p>\n
Rocks and concrete approaches have been added as well as an asphalt transition to connect it to existing road.<\/p>\n
The rocks placed on either side are designed to protect the asphalt from losses in future flooding.<\/p>\n
Golden Plains Shire mayor Cr Brett Cunningham said construction and upgrades are set to continue across Golden Plains Shire.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Tannery Road Floodway is a significant upgrade of what was previously there, and council will continue to identify and complete similar projects to improve safety and access on our roads,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe roads maintenance teams have been doing a lot of work on the Shire\u2019s 1700 kilometres road network.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are responding to all requests for road works, however roads will continue to be repaired on a priority basis based on traffic volume and road usage.<\/p>\n
\u201cCouncil values and appreciates residents\u2019 feedback on our road networks, and we appreciate your support as the teams complete these essential works.\u201d<\/p>\n
