APPLICATIONS for the next round of Berrybank Wind Farm community grants are set to open next week.<\/p>\n
The grants are designed to provide funding opportunities for community, business and tourism events in the Golden Plains Shire.<\/p>\n
There are two categories that groups can apply for: economic development and tourism projects, and events which are over $10,000.<\/p>\n
Groups are required to match the funding up to $10,000 either in cash or in contributions such as volunteer work.<\/p>\n
Golden Plains Shire mayor Cr Brett Cunningham said the funding is a great way to support local groups who are imperative to the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe encourage groups in our community who have an idea for a project or business and tourism event, to submit an application for consideration,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cCouncil also strongly encourages potential applicants to contact Council’s Community Development and Grants Officer to discuss their application before applying for a grant, to help ensure all requirements are met.\u201d<\/p>\n
