SEVEN scholarships have been awarded to students studying renewable energy at Federation University\u2019s Mount Helen campus.<\/p>\n
Provided by the Moorabool Wind Farm, operator Goldwind Australia representatives Jose Matthew and Navneet Sharma presented the awards at a ceremony last month.<\/p>\n
\u201cMoorabool Wind Farm is proud to support local TAFE students as part of its ongoing long-term community benefit sharing program,\u201d said Mr Mathew.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the second year we have partnered with Federation University to offer scholarships to local students.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were pleased to increase the number of scholarships on offer this year and broaden the range of courses we can support.\u201d<\/p>\n
Amelia Johnson and Evie Hirst were each awarded $5000 scholarships as part of their Bachelor of Environmental and Conservation Science.<\/p>\n
Daniella Anzai, Lucy Darce, Shannon Lormier, Felicity Patterson and Deanne Smith were awarded $3000 scholarships to help with their studies.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen reviewing the applications, I was impressed by the passion of the applicants to complete their studies, with a few of the applicants switching careers or making personal sacrifices to follow their ambitions,\u201d said Clare Powell, head of community engagement at Goldwind Australia.<\/p>\n
