A BALLARAT Grammar student and rising sports star has been selected to represent Australia at two international championships following a recent national pentathlon win.<\/p>\n
After taking home the title for the under 17s females category in the Australian Laser Run championship in Sydney in early June, Zoe Addinsall is headed overseas to represent her country.<\/p>\n
She said the national games were an important stepping stone.<\/p>\n
\u201cBefore the event, there was a leadup of qualifications to go to the world championships in Bath,\u201d she said. \u201cThat was the final qualification to make it into it if you made the time.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis was just the running and shooting part of pentathlon. I made the time in Sydney at 10.59 and I had to make it at 11.45 so I made it by a fair bit.\u201d<\/p>\n
Addinsall will now be taking part in the Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne Laser Run in Germany next week before being one of eighteen Australian athletes in the Modern Pentathlon World Championships in England.<\/p>\n
She previously took part in last year\u2019s UIPM Laser Run in Portugal, where she placed sixth in her category, and said she\u2019s excited to compete on the world stage again.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to get out there in the world and competing against all the best people there are,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI reckon I\u2019ve improved a lot certainly by my running because I\u2019ve been training more and putting in more effort into it.<\/p>\n
