DISCOVER the world of salvias at the local library alongside members of the Bannockburn and District Garden Club.<\/p>\n
As part of the Seed Library program at Bannockburn Library, a salvia education session is set to be led by Victorian Salvia Study Group coordinator and landscape designer Lyndi Garnett in July.<\/p>\n
Garden and plant-lovers are invited to attend the presentation which will include tips for growing and caring for the sage flowers.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs the winter weather arrives, it\u2019s great to have an excuse to get out of the house and connect with your local community,\u201d Geelong Regional Libraries CEO Vanessa Schernickau said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis gardening event is the perfect excuse.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bannockburn Library\u2019s Seed Library is a permanent feature, accessible to everyone, which has grown with the contributions of passionate gardeners based in the local area.<\/p>\n
Members of the Bannockburn Library can bring seeds from their own garden to share with other members of the community, or they can pick up seeds at the resource centre to take home and use in their garden.<\/p>\n
The aim of the Seed Library, much like the Bannockburn and District Garden Club, is to encourage knowledge-sharing and connectedness between people of all ages.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter the event, why not explore our extensive collection of gardening resources, from books to magazines to eBooks,\u201d Ms Schernickau said.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can request items from our vast collection to be sent to Bannockburn Library or the Golden Plains mobile library, for easy collection.\u201d<\/p>\n
Learn About the World of Salvias will run on Tuesday 25 July from 1.30pm to 3pm at 25 High Street, Bannockburn.<\/p>\n
