AHEAD of the release of her fourth album Hey Dawn in August, award-winning country musician Fanny Lumsden is returning to Ballarat.<\/p>\n
The singer-songwriter will be live on stage at the Ballaarat Mechanics\u2019 Institute on Saturday 29 July, and she said it\u2019s venue she enjoys playing in.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe community there is amazing, and the fans that come along to the Ballarat show are always so excited and create such a great energy in the room,\u201d Lumsden said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve always really loved playing in Ballarat, so it was a no-brainer to include it in this tour.<\/p>\n
\u201cBallarat always has that human connection, and I love that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hey Dawn will be released on the following Friday 4 August, and Lumsden said it was mostly written while she was driving around Australia.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe overall theme of the record is those stories we tell ourselves, and how they shape us,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m really excited for it to come out, I can\u2019t wait, and if you loved the previous records, I\u2019m sure that you\u2019ll find something in there for you.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lumsden will have only just returned to Australia from the United Kingdom, after playing at the iconic Glastonbury Festival in June.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was one of those moments where you think, I don’t really know how this happened,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was really amazing.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe festival was monstrous, with over 200,000 people going, and so much going on. It was so overwhelming.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe played early on the Friday. We thought no one had heard of us, but the tent was absolutely packed, and they were all right there for us, very gracious, did all the dance moves, cheered, and sang along.<\/p>\n
