WITH the Australian Water Association\u2019s National Water Week celebrations approaching, Central Highlands Water is again calling on young people to get involved.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s theme is \u2018united by water,\u2019 and CHW staff will soon accept entries from creative local children in their annual National Water Week poster competition.<\/p>\n
Children from preschool age to grade 6 are invited to pull out some paper, pencils, Textas, and crayons, and design a poster that engages with the concept of water unity.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe 2023 theme, united by water, celebrates water\u2019s vital role in connecting us all,\u201d a CHW spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWater touches every aspect of development. It drives economic growth, supports healthy ecosystems, and is essential and fundamental for life.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur collaborations in water management continue to guide us in this integral space.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe poster competition is a great activity for early learning centre rooms, kindergartens, and primary school classrooms in the lead up to National Water Week.\u201d<\/p>\n
CHW staff are encouraging educators and children to get drawing as term three arrives next week, with age category winners announced during National Water Week, and prizes up for grabs including gift cards and water-saving resources.<\/p>\n
National Water Week is held in October every year, and will run from 6 to 22 October in 2023.<\/p>\n
The Australian Water Association\u2019s annual celebrations aim to inspire people, communities, businesses and organisations to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the importance of water, its value, and its key place in keeping societies and environments alive.<\/p>\n
