THE state of the municipality\u2019s creative and cultural sectors is being assessed by Golden Plains Shire staff.<\/p>\n
A creative and cultural mapping survey is being undertaken, with municipal staff aiming to collect data as part of the Arts, Culture and Heritage Strategy.<\/p>\n
Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham said face-to-face forums for community members to attend are also part of the process.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis survey and the three forums aim to provide valuable insights into the community\u2019s artistic and cultural landscape, as well as capture experiences, preferences, and suggestions regarding our creative community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe survey is responding to our Arts Culture and Heritage Strategy that identified a need for the development of baseline data measurements and up to date data to see council\u2019s commitment is wisely invested.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether you are a collector, historian, had previous experience in arts and cultural heritage or management, a writer, publisher, or you are an artist, curator, maker, musician or producer, we encourage you to attend a forum and share your thoughts and ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n
A forum was held yesterday in Smythesdale, while there are more in Meredith and Inverleigh tomorrow, Friday 21 July, and next Tuesday 1 August respectively.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy contributing your thoughts, you might help us identify our strengths, address challenges, and unlock opportunities to enhance the creative and cultural life of our Shire,\u201d Cr Cunningham said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlease come and join us in shaping a creative, directional, and inclusive artistic community that enriches the lives of all residents.\u201d<\/p>\n
Those interested in filling out the digital survey can head to goldenplains.vic.gov.au\/consultations.<\/p>\n
