CRESWICK-based education charity Youthrive Victoria is encouraging young people to apply for their 2024 university scholarships.<\/p>\n
Any current year 12 student from a regional or rural area who is aiming to begin a tertiary degree next year is eligible to nominate themself for support worth $10,000 per year for three years.<\/p>\n
Youthrive and Community Bank Creswick and District have joined forces as part of the initiative, which seeks to help not just the successful scholars, but all those who apply.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are thrilled to partner with Community Bank Creswick and District, in providing scholarships for 2024,\u201d Youthrive CEO Maryann Brown said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll applicants will be invited to participate in leadership development and mentoring activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cYoung rural Victorians who are finishing school this year are welcome to apply for a Youthrive Victoria scholarship.\u201d<\/p>\n
The scholarship program aims to make further education more accessible as well as helping recipients cover the cost of living and travelling, particularly if they are making a move from the country to the city.<\/p>\n
Youthrive was formerly known as the Macpherson Smith Rural Foundation, and the not-for-profit seeks to bolster country Victorian communities by supporting young people, helping them develop leadership skills, and offering other support.<\/p>\n
Sponsors, private and philanthropic donations fund the scholarships, and students interested in applying can visit youthrivevictoria.org.au before the end of Friday, 25 August.<\/p>\n
Rural Chances scholarships worth $5000, for those seeking to go into vocational education after school, will then open on Sunday, 3 September and close on Friday, 3 November.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
