GRAND National Jumps Day is coming to the Ballarat Turf Club this month.<\/p>\n
From 11am on Sunday 27 August there will be a six jumps race program, food trucks and entertainment on site with both packages and general admission tickets available.<\/p>\n
CEO of Ballarat Turf Club, Belinda Glass, said the day has a range of entertainment and is different to other race days.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a bit different because there\u2019s no flat races on that particular day, just jump races,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s like the grand final of jump races for the season.\u201d<\/p>\n
There will be a bus transporting attendees from Ballarat to the track to allow for a fuss free day.<\/p>\n
Major prize money will be on offer for participants, with the largest prize valued at $400,000.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s always a spectacle for the crowd and the Ecycle Solutions Grand National Steeple Chase is a very significant race and offers significant prize money,\u201d said Ms Glass.<\/p>\n
She encouraged the community to come along and support country racing in Victoria.<\/p>\n
\u201cCountry racing allows people to come together and support their country clubs,\u201d said Ms Glass.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re really good days to come together, meet with friends, bring family along and enjoy a day out.\u201d<\/p>\n
On the day, there will be entertainment for the whole family both on and off the track.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019ve got the entertainment factor of what\u2019s happening in the background and a good day out with beverages, food and live music,\u201d said Ms Glass.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a huge variety and you don\u2019t have to be a racing enthusiast to enjoy a day out at the races.\u201d<\/p>\n
