{"id":92447,"date":"2023-08-20T04:57:38","date_gmt":"2023-08-19T18:57:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=92447"},"modified":"2023-08-18T16:52:49","modified_gmt":"2023-08-18T06:52:49","slug":"artists-pair-up-for-combined-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/artists-pair-up-for-combined-show\/","title":{"rendered":"Artists pair up for combined show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>IMAGINATIVE collages and landscape lino prints are bringing colour and texture to the walls of the gallery at Accent Framing and Fine Art.<\/p>\n<p>Visual artists of the Golden Plains Shire\u2019s north, Marie Mason and Anne Langdon, are presenting a combined exhibition of their works during August.<\/p>\n<p>Most of Langdon\u2019s creations in the show are collages, however some are silk screen, mono, and lino prints, which she has become known for as a member of Goldfields Printmakers, alongside Mason.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI quite like to do collage, because I find I\u2019m more in control of where things go,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI use a lot of my print work, tearing it up and recycling it, use found materials as well, and include painting. They are mixed media pieces.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_92332\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-92332\" style=\"width: 440px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-92332\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2023\/08\/four-birds.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"440\" height=\"640\" data-wp-editing=\"1\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-92332\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Anne Langdon is a mixed media artist, experienced in collage and printmaking. Photo: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cMy work is a lot different to Marie\u2019s, with her works landscape based, and mine more imaginative based, rather than on real things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mason\u2019s coloured reduction and black-and-white prints feature Lake Fyans, where \u201ctrees are like white statues\u201d in the water, canola paddocks near Mount Buffalo, a sunset, ducks, and more.<\/p>\n<p>The pair initially connected when Mason moved from Melbourne to Ross Creek four years ago. Photo: FILE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe had the same sort of artistic bent, and a love of making pictures,\u201d Mason said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m drawn to printmaking, I have to keep on printing, and Anne understood that.
