{"id":92457,"date":"2023-08-21T04:58:12","date_gmt":"2023-08-20T18:58:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=92457"},"modified":"2023-08-21T09:47:34","modified_gmt":"2023-08-20T23:47:34","slug":"bush-gallery-adds-to-local-art-scene","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/bush-gallery-adds-to-local-art-scene\/","title":{"rendered":"Bush gallery adds to local art scene"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AN independent art gallery in a country setting is about to open on the outskirts of Ballarat next month.<\/p>\n<p>Ceramicist Ruby Pilven and her mum, fellow artist Janine Ronaldson, are launching Ross Creek Gallery on Post Office Road.<\/p>\n<p>Pilven said the space has been a 10-year dream, and in development for the last 13 months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUsually, every time we want to show work, we have to clean up the studio for two weeks beforehand,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s a lot of effort to move everything around.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInstead, we want to have a nice clean, aesthetic space to show our work, and make it really sing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe studio is great, but it\u2019s just a studio. Work they have both produced on site will be displayed and for sale in the gallery.<\/p>\n<p>In the future, they plan to \u201cshare the love\u201d by inviting other artists from the broader Ballarat community to have exhibitions in the space.<\/p>\n<p>An official opening is set for Saturday 2 September, 1pm to 4pm, and then the gallery will be open every Saturday.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_92326\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-92326\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-92326\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2023\/08\/IMG_3445-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2023\/08\/IMG_3445-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2023\/08\/IMG_3445-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2023\/08\/IMG_3445-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2023\/08\/IMG_3445-1536x1024.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-92326\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pilven\u2019s ceramic vases, plates, bowls, and jewellery adorn shelves and plinths throughout the light and airy space.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cInstead of being open three times a year for open studios, I can be open every weekend,\u201d Pilven said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s great for local people, and those coming out from Melbourne wanting to see some Ballarat spots.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll be here working in the studio and can come out and chat to them in the gallery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pilven and Ronaldson also plan to be part of the Australian Ceramics Open Studios event in November.<\/p>\n<p>Search rubypilvenceramics on Facebook for more information on the launch.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AN independent art gallery in a country setting is about to open on the outskirts of Ballarat next month.
