PEOPLE are gathering at the Courthouse Hotel at Smythesdale every second Tuesday to test their knowledge with trivia.<\/p>\n
Questions cover topics like sport, animals, music and general knowledge, and there\u2019s also a $20 pizza and drink deal also available.<\/p>\n
Kerry Clarke organises the event and said each week is a little bit different allowing people to expand their knowledge.<\/p>\n
\u201cLast week it ended up being mainly geographical with images of cities or asking what\u2019s to the left of India and things like that,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of the girls from IGA who had a table said, \u2018we hate geography\u2019 but by the end they\u2019d done really well and there\u2019s nothing better than learning while you\u2019re out with your mates and having a drink.\u201d<\/p>\n
The night also provides an opportunity for community members to meet each other following the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople say they just love meeting other locals because they don\u2019t have the opportunity when they go into the servo or into the IGA,\u201d said Ms Clarke.<\/p>\n
\u201cRecently there were two tables of two and they had moved to the area in the last five years and didn\u2019t really know anyone.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey decided to become a team and they\u2019d never met each other before so everyone gets to know each other and have a bit of a laugh.\u201d<\/p>\n
