AN interstate author will soon hold a local unveiling of her latest guide to all things permaculture in a book launch next month.<\/p>\n
Organised by members of Ballarat Permaculture Guild, the free event will see author and Milkwood co-founder Kirsten Bradley presenting her recently published work, The Milkwood Permaculture Living Handbook.<\/p>\n
BPG vice-president Fiona Williamson said the launch will showcase a comprehensive guide to the principles of permaculture.<\/p>\n
\u201cKirsten\u2019s done a number of books now and this one is the first sort of comprehensive permaculture handbook,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe key message is how to use permaculture and its principles to live a sustainable life and what that means for us all.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis will be a great chance for people to interact with the book and ask Kirsten some important questions.\u201d<\/p>\n
Taking place at Collins Booksellers on Lydiard Street, the event will feature a panel discussion at the Old Colonists Club upstairs with guests including We Bar None founder Ellen Burns.<\/p>\n
There\u2019ll also be book signing with Bradley at the end of the event.<\/p>\n
Ms Williamson said she hopes the launch will give attendees a range of things to think about.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe event will introduce her book but she\u2019s also been having conversations around climate change and permaculture and how do we live sustainable lives,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the things about Milkwood is that they really lay the principles out in a really easy-to-understand and accessible way.<\/p>\n
\u201cKirsten and her family make things really translatable especially for households and for people living in cities because people often think you have to live on a farm or a lot of space.\u201d<\/p>\n
