BALLARAT Mini Friends miniature doll group will be holding their annual fair at Brown Hill Hall this October.<\/p>\n
The fair is designed for miniature enthusiasts and will include a range of mini items for sale, as well as a raffle which will be a chance to win a tiny dollhouse.<\/p>\n
the fair organiser Gwen Jarvis said the event is the only of its kind in regional Australia.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a lot of interstate traders and it\u2019s a very popular fair,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cVery few miniature fairs are held in Australia and we are the only one outside a capital city so the interstate traders find it\u2019s very beneficial for them to travel a long way.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ballarat Mini Friends is a group that caters for those interested in mini dolls and items which go inside a dollhouse.<\/p>\n
The group meets the fourth Wednesday of every month and Brown Hill Hall where they can work on projects together and share ideas.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re just a group of friends who get together and we make miniature dolls houses and the miniature furniture to go in them and bits and pieces,\u201d said Ms Jarvis.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s also the company and enjoyment of meeting people who are as interested as we are.\u201d<\/p>\n
She encouraged anyone who currently makes miniatures or who may be interested in starting to connect with the group.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love making them and sharing them as I\u2019ve always taken the opportunity of learning anything that\u2019s been available and I\u2019m always very prepared to share it and take their ideas on board as well,\u201d Ms Jarvis said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI find that it\u2019s a great hobby as I\u2019ve always made dolls but people say they run out of room so go to the smaller scale.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Ballarat Mini Friends annual fair will be on Saturday 28 October from 10am to 4pm with a $4 entry fee.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
