THE Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast are selling hampers this festive season as part of their Ballarat Gourmet Goodies fundraising project.<\/p>\n
The group\u2019s offerings include a fine foods hamper at $100, an indulgence hamper for $85, and two goldfields brewer selection hampers priced at $35 each.<\/p>\n
The products in the hampers come from Ballarat and surrounding areas and contain food and speciality beer.<\/p>\n
Last year the initiative raised more than $10,000 which was donated to the Ballarat Suicide Prevention Network.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s campaign will see funds donated to BRICC Cancer Wellness Centre.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe project was a major fundraiser for the club and was a win-win situation as it supports local businesses as well as raising much needed funds for our community,\u201d said Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast president Geoff James.<\/p>\n
Springhill Farm is one of the local businesses supplying produce for the hampers and general manager Fiona Whattley said it was good initiative to be involved with.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re really proud to be a part of this project and we love being a part of the Ballarat community and to fundraise for the BRICC,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Packing of the hampers will begin in early December with free delivery available within 30 kilometres of Ballarat.<\/p>\n
Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast fundraising director Garry McKenzie said the hampers have proved popular over recent years.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe hampers would make an ideal gift for staff, clients, family and friends,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cLast year a number of local businesses got on board and bought hampers. Due to the success of last year\u2019s project, we have some new suppliers this year.\u201d<\/p>\n
