WESTERN United is preparing to return to Ballarat for the first time in the 2023\/24 A-League Men season, and as part of the game attendees will have the opportunity to win equipment for their sporting club.<\/p>\n
The Green and Black will take on the Newcastle Jets at Mars Stadium on Saturday 11 November from 3.30pm while two more games will be played in Ballarat on Sunday 26 November and Saturday 2 December.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re incredibly excited to come back to Ballarat and it\u2019s certainly been a place we have a strong connection with and we are looking forward to strengthening our connection,\u201d said Anthony Frost, Western United general manager of academy and community.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese games are going to be a fantastic opportunity to see and connect with all of the Western United fans in the area.\u201d<\/p>\n
As part of the Ballarat games, local clubs are being asked to get their players, friends and family to attend for the chance to win prizes including a $3000 Teqball Table.<\/p>\n
To enter, fans need to place an entry into the Unite and WIN chest on arrival, nominating their local club.<\/p>\n
The club that receives the most nominations after the final game will win the major prize.<\/p>\n
\u201cSupporting local clubs is a key driver for us,\u201d said Mr Frost. \u201cWe really want to ensure we don\u2019t just come to the area, play a game and leave, we want to have a lasting legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n
At each match one attendee will also win a signed jersey and there\u2019ll be giveaways and player appearances at the Unite and WIN activation.<\/p>\n
The Liberty A-League pass has also been extended to the Ballarat games, meaning kids 16 and under can attend for free.<\/p>\n
If that\u2019s not enough there\u2019s also pre-match clinic at Frank Bourke Oval next door to Mars between 12pm and 2pm, where children can develop their skills and take part in drills.<\/p>\n
Participants will also have the opportunity to play on the pitch at half time.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity for young people to take part in a coaching clinic where there will be a number of drills and games,\u201d said Mr Frost.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a great way for any aspiring footballer to participate and have an incredible experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
