LINTON\u2019S community planning project is underway with a survey distributed to locals during last weekend\u2019s Town Wide Garage Sale.<\/p>\n
As part of this engagement period, community coordinators are aiming to get a sense of what residents\u2019 priorities are for the town in the coming years.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Linton community planning process began on 3 October with an inception meeting with external mentors Non Profit Training,\u201d said Golden Plains Shire acting director community, planning and growth Emma Wheatland.<\/p>\n
\u201cNPT\u2019s role will be to guide and support the Linton community through the planning and engagement phase of the program.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Linton Progress Association, Linton Men\u2019s Shed, historical society, and the sports and recreation facilities all have groups coming together to contribute to the development of plan and key priorities for Linton over the next four years.<\/p>\n
\u201cCommunity coordinators, project champions and volunteers will then help deliver projects, initiatives, activities and advocacy that improve the liveability and quality of life for their residents.<\/p>\n
\u201cUpon completion of the plan, council further supports communities by providing a community planning seed funding program, with funds up to $10,000 per town available to assist the implementation of priority projects.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Wheatland said the backing could help the Linton community capture further State and Federal government grants, philanthropic donations, or lead to fundraising initiatives.<\/p>\n
Community planning for Teesdale, Inverleigh, Shelford, Dereel, Batesford, and the Maude, She Oaks and Steigltiz area took place last year, and the documents are being implemented.<\/p>\n
Alongside Linton, the Mannibadar, Meredith, Bannockburn, Garibaldi, and Cape Clear, Illabarook, and Rokewood Junction areas are developing their four-year community plans within the next six months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
