THE DecoGlaze Ballarat Pacing Club 2024 is just about to trot around the corner.<\/p>\n
The city\u2019s biggest annual night of harness racing, including the main $100,000 race, returns on Saturday 20 January.<\/p>\n
Ballarat Trotting Club general manager of operations, Ash Madder, said the event is one for the whole family with lots of entertainment on and off the track.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have free kids\u2019 activities, food trucks, a beer garden, live music, and lots of good racing as well, with some of the best horses from around Australia and New Zealand,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the moment we have nine races programmed, and we’re expecting a few good horses coming over from New Zealand and hope to see other top horses from around the eastern seaboard of Australia come down.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are a few big stables around Ballarat which usually throw a few horses in, so there should be some local horses entered, and we should have a decent field.\u201d<\/p>\n
The main Ballarat Pacing Club event usually runs between 9pm and 9.30pm, and runs for roughly two-and-a-half laps for more than two minutes.<\/p>\n
But this year\u2019s cup looks a little bit different with a new major supporter.<\/p>\n
\u201cDecoGlaze is the new naming rights sponsor this year, and we\u2019re rapt to have them on board,\u201d Mr Madder said. \u201cThey\u2019re a great supporter of the club.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re taking over from Petstock who have been a fantastic partner for a number of years.\u201d<\/p>\n
