A NEW telehealth psychology practice has been established in Ballarat and there’s currently no waiting list.<\/p>\n
Therapy from Home, run by psychologist Beth Fernandes, is aiming to make sessions more accessible to parents and regional Australians in general.<\/p>\n
The idea came from Ms Fernandes\u2019 own experiences of being a parent and the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen COVID changed things,\u201d she said. \u201cIt made us appreciate that things can be different.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt taught us that online platforms are a great way to connect with others.\u201d<\/p>\n
Therapy from Home appointments are available to anyone aged 15 and above who has a device with a strong internet connection.<\/p>\n
Ms Fernandes said benefits of telehealth psychology include flexibility and the fact that participants can be somewhere the feel safe.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is no problem too big or too small, it is just a chance to work through things that you have found difficult to work though alone or with your current supports,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt Therapy from Home, we believe that the relationship you form with your psychologist is the most important part of the therapy.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you trust and feel comfortable with your psychologist and know that you are not being judged, then you feel safe to challenge yourself, to release emotion, to move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n
While Ms Fernandes is Ballarat based, appointments are available to anyone Australia-wide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
