STAFF at the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority, or CCMA, have formally released the final Kitjarra-dja-bul Bullarto langi-ut masterplan.<\/p>\n
The development of the plan has taken two years and included in engagement with State and Federal government, Wadawurrung traditional owners, community groups and the wider community.<\/p>\n
Member for Geelong, Christine Couzens, was at Batesford to mark the achievement and announced $1.7 million in funding as part of the State Government’s Greenlinks initiative.<\/p>\n
Funding from the Greenlinks program could allow some of the master plan’s high priority projects like revegetating sites along the Barwon, Leigh, Moorabool rivers or Waurn Ponds Creek to get underway.<\/p>\n
Senior strategy project officer Andrew Harrison said the CCMA was grateful for the State Government\u2019s support of the master plan.<\/p>\n
“We are thrilled to have been awarded this funding, as it signifies a significant stride towards enhancing our environment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis corridor and these rivers are important to the local community and Aboriginal traditional owners.\u201d<\/p>\n
