ROSS Creek Gallery\u2019s latest exhibitor is showcasing the results of about three years\u2019 worth of national and overseas travelling to attendees. <\/p>\n
Printmaker, Damon Kowarsky\u2019s Of Land and Sky<\/EM> is on show until Sunday 17 March and features about 16 pieces depicting locations captured from across the globe. <\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re mostly dealing with landscape and architecture in the landscape,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re all based on my travels around Australia and the world and then from those travels I made drawings and then from those drawings I made etchings which are what\u2019s on display.\u201d <\/p>\n The featured works depict nearby locations such as Tower Hill near Warrnambool, and Mount Noorat, to places further afield like Ulcinj in Montenegro, San Diego\u2019s Salk Institute for Biological Studies and Shibam in Yemen. <\/p>\n Kowarsky estimated about each work would take about a week to complete on average, and depending on size. <\/p>\n \u201cThey range in size from about 12 centimetres across, to two metres across so it\u2019s quite a range of different scaled works,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n He said he wants attendees to bring their own experiences to the exhibition. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m looking through the pieces I\u2019ve made to date to find a show that looks cohesive,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n \u201cBut it\u2019s also about what works in the space and allowing the people who come it to make their own stories and connections with the pieces.\u201d<\/p>\n Ross Creek Gallery is open Fridays to Sundays from 11am to 4pm during the show\u2019s run although appointments can be made to see the exhibition outside operating hours.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" ROSS Creek Gallery\u2019s latest exhibitor is showcasing the results of about three years\u2019 worth of national and overseas travelling to attendees.
