“We had over 400 people participate in the easter egg hunt, and we’ve never had that sort of number before. We normally have a bit over 300.<\/p>\n
“We ordered about 7500 easter eggs and it was lucky we did. Because it was $7 to participate, that was a good raiser.<\/p>\n
“The live acts were popular again, as were all the community groups who did a fantastic job, including the men’s shed and the fire brigade.<\/p>\n
“We had 80 market stalls and we hope to get them back next year.”<\/p>\n
Mr Cook said the committee is grateful for all involved in the event, whether they made a financial donation, provided a service for free, ran a stall, operated a ride, or simply attended.<\/p>\n
“We’d like to thank everyone who supported us,” he said. “There are six of us on the committee but it’s so much bigger than that.<\/p>\n
“There are a lot of generous people who give up their time and give us the use of things like cool rooms and marquees for nothing.<\/p>\n
“There are so many businesses, individuals and community groups that get involved and without them we’d raise nothing.<\/p>\n
“We encourage anyone who would like to be a part of it next year to get in touch. We’re always after more committee people and volunteers.<\/p>\n
