IT’S not long until applications open for the next round of the Berrybank Wind Farm community grants program.<\/p>\n

The initiative aims to provide funding opportunities to local small businesses, community groups, tourism events and projects.<\/p>\n

Applications are set to open Wednesday 1 May and close Friday 31 May.<\/p>\n

There are two different categories of funding organisations can apply for which are tourism projects or economic development projects.<\/p>\n

Community groups must seek funding for amounts exceeding $10,000 and applicants can submit multi-year applications for both categories for no more than three years.<\/p>\n

Golden Plains Shire mayor Cr Brett Cuningham said the partnership between the municipality and Berrybank Wind Farm is key.<\/p>\n

“We are proud to partner with the Berrybank Wind Farm to deliver this important grant funding which helps Golden Plains community groups champion and celebrate our region through their economic development and tourism activities,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Council also strongly encourages potential applicants to contact council’s community development and grants officer before applying for a grant.<\/p>\n

“This helps ensure all requirements are met for their application.”<\/p>\n

In 2024, there is $65,000 of funding available with previous funding going towards the Golden Plains Arts Trail, the Shelford Duck Race, the Teesdale Twilight Market and Carols, the Bunjil Lookout Community Gathering, the Valentine’s Bush Dance and Winter Solstice and the Shelford Public Hall Rejuvenation Project.<\/p>\n
