{"id":98107,"date":"2024-05-31T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-30T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=98107"},"modified":"2024-05-29T19:39:40","modified_gmt":"2024-05-29T09:39:40","slug":"early-learning-centre-for-teesdale-kids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/early-learning-centre-for-teesdale-kids\/","title":{"rendered":"Early learning centre for Teesdale kids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FAMILIES in Teesdale can expect a new Early Learning<\/p>\n<p>and Childcare Centre to open in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Member for Eureka, Michaela Settle visited Teesdale Primary School to announce land has been bought nearby to build the ELCC as part of the State Government&#8217;s $14 billion Best Start, Best Life program.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With a new early learning and childcare centre on its way,<\/p>\n<p>parents will be able to drop their kids off in one stop, kids can transition from early learning to primary school easier, and teachers will be able to get to know the new kids before they join their classes,&#8221; Member for Eureka, Michaela Settle said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Great for everybody.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Teesdale Primary School principal Chelsey Marks said staff are excited to build new connections with those in the new Teesdale Early Learning and Childcare Centre community.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The site is so closely located to the school,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Being a community-minded school means that we will be quite heavily involved in the Early Learning Centre.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2024\/05\/MyRoom-24_69450.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The State Government has purchased land near Teesdale Primary School where the town&#8217;s new ELCC is expected to be built.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re looking forward to the relationships and connections that they can also build with the school.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Working closely with the Early Learning Centre staff, there will be opportunities for both our students and their children to build those relationships early, which can only have a positive impact on when students are transitioning to school and starting their foundation year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The transition process, and program we will provide, will set those students up for success.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Teesdale ELCC is set to be one of 50 State-government-run centres of those kind opening in the coming years to boost access to early years education in growing areas.<\/p>\n<p>To increase convenience to parents, these centres are planned to be built next to schools, hospitals, TAFEs and major employers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FAMILIES in Teesdale can expect a new Early Learning and Childcare Centre to open in 2026.
