STAFF at Golden Plains Shire are inviting everyone to give their feedback on their proposed designs to overhaul the play space at Shelford Recreation Reserve.<\/p>\n
The current concept designs boast updated equipment including an ground-level trampoline, standing spinner, two large swings, a treehouse tower, bush cubby, as well as climbable logs and boulders.<\/p>\n
With consultation carried out with local groups and primary students, mayor Cr Brett Cunningham encouraged the broader community to get involved in the project.<\/p>\n
“Council has worked closely with students from Shelford Primary School and the Shelford Projects Committee to identify what new features are important for users of the play space,” Cr Cunningham said.<\/p>\n
“Based on that feedback, this concept design has been developed to feature a variety of new, fun and practical play elements for young people in Shelford and surrounding towns.<\/p>\n
“I encourage community members to view the proposed design and share their thoughts.<\/p>\n
“Council will then move to advocate for funding support to bring this upgrade to life.”<\/p>\n
Alongside the proposed new play equipment, the designs also include features such as street furniture, new pathways, picnic seating, a gravel carpark, and three-metre-tall barrier to keep out balls from the oval.<\/p>\n
The concept designs were released last week and will remain open for feedback until 9am on Wednesday 24 July via the municipality’s consultations page on their website.<\/p>\n
The designs can also be viewed in-person at Golden Plains Shire’s customer hubs at 2 Pope Street, Bannockburn, and 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale.<\/p>\n
Once the exhibition feedback closes, the subsequent designs will be utilised to gain funding support for the project, as well as guide its delivery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
