AN absolutely fabulous event is coming to Inverleigh this month raising money for the Cancer Council.<\/p>\n

Patsy and Eddie’s Girls Night In, held at Inverleigh Bowls Club, will include food, drinks, live music, raffles and prizes.<\/p>\n

Businesswomen Jane Vandenberg and Tonia Tribe have often been compared to the Ab Fab duo and decided it would be the perfect theme for a fundraiser.<\/p>\n

“Ton and I have called ourselves Patsy and Eddie for a very long time,” said Ms Vandenberg.<\/p>\n

“Tonia is very regal and very much like Patsy who dresses up and has the beehive hairdo all the time, and Eddie is a bit of an old hippie which is exactly me to a tee.”<\/p>\n

Last year the pair held a Bosom Buddies High Tea which raised more than $3000 for the Cancer Council.<\/p>\n

“That was a really successful day and we’re hoping to do the same this year,” said Ms Vandenberg.<\/p>\n

Ms Vandenberg has lived experience of cancer, being a breast cancer survivor of 12 years and Ms Tribe lost both her parents to cancer.<\/p>\n

“It’s a charity that is very close to our heart that we want to help and give back in some way,” said Ms Vandenberg.<\/p>\n

The duo encouraged the community to advocate for their health and stay informed.<\/p>\n

“It is about raising awareness as well for us, particularly around women’s cancers,” said Ms Vandenberg.<\/p>\n

“Don’t sit around if you have an ache or a pain or think you have a little cyst.”<\/p>\n
