Toni Childs celebrates then and now in new retrospective
International recording star Toni Childs presents a new show at Twin Towns in Toni Childs in Concert: A Retrospective on September 6.
The recently minted Australian citizen has called the hills of Byron home since 2012. The two-hour concert of Childs’ work will include hits from Union, House of Hope, The Woman’s Boat and Keep the Faith, as well as her latest work from two new albums, It’s All a Beautiful Noise and Citizens of the Planet. Years in the planning, the concert series was recently reborn after an earlier pandemic derailing.
The Emmy-winning and three-time Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter is known for her powerful voice, inspiring spirit and crafted storytelling. She has worked with many legendary artists including opening for Bob Dylan and duet performances with such greats as Al Green and Peter Gabriel.
Childs maintains a global fan base with international hits such as “Don’t Walk Away”, “Stop Your Fussin'”, “Walk and Talk Like Angels”, “Many Rivers to Cross” and “I’ve Got to Go Now” among others.
It’s All A Beautiful Noise, and Citizens of The Planet are part of two unique 3D Mapping projects that feature two hours of music, animation, and high-tech audience engagement.
Childs will film a music video for her new single “Lift” in Byron Bay on August 19. The artist has invited friends, fans, and the community to take part in a 120-cast production of a street party scene along Jonson Street. Participants need only to walk (and strut) for the drone-filmed shoot, and no dancing is required. The artist’s Facebook page contains information on the shoot and the previous day’s rehearsal.
As part of Toni Childs In Concert: A Retrospective, concertgoers can purchase a VIP Meet and Greet ticket. The limited tickets include first-row seats, a two-set CD, a digital copy of her Greatest Hits album, and a backstage drink and chat in an intimate pre-show gathering with the artist.
