Brisbane-based singer Dana Gehrman brings her vintage-tinged Americana vibes to Murwillumbah’s The Citadel on Saturday, September 28.

The current tour launches her new single, Let It Be You, a nostalgia-evoking country-soul ballad from the heart influenced by the halcyon days of the 1970s West Coast sound.

Her unique blend of vintage, alternative country, and bluegrass music brought her to the attention of a wider audience throughout Australia after her 2019 debut Find a Way. In a rewinding of time and genre-bending experimentalism, Gehrman blends soul, roots-rock, blues, and distinctive vocals with her band of stalwarts Danny Widdicombe, Chris Bosley, Peter Golikov, and Tony McCall.

She has shared the stage and studio with Tim Rogers (You Am I), Mick Thomas (Weddings, Parties, Anything), Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon), Charlie Owen (Tex, Don and Charlie), The Teskey Brothers, Russell Morris, Mia Dyson, Walter Trout (USA) and Frazey Ford (CAN).

Gehrman’s recent album, Down in Hollywood, includes her reimagining of songs by Lowell George, songwriter, singer and slide guitarist for Little Feat. Both George and the band serve as influence and inspiration for Gehrman’s classic 70s roots rock.

Ruby Gilbert will open the evening with her alchemic style of Americana meets present-day. She is known for her distinctive folk-rock and blues with a vintage twist sound, which has turned heads and ears since her 2018 debut EP, Dearly Beloved. Her music has been featured on Netflix and ABC, and Gilbert has toured with the likes of C.W. Stoneking, Justin Townes Earle, and The Teskey Brothers.
