Body found after Lismore house fire

A MAN’S body has been found after a house fire in East Lismore.


Emergency services were called to Belvedere Drive about 5.45am on September 30.


Police said the front rooms were fully alight on arrival.


Firefighters extinguished the blaze but the home sustained major damage.


Officers are waiting for the property to be declared structurally safe before entering to continue investigations.


A crime scene has been established and the cause is under investigation.


The man is yet to be formally identified.
